I-95 and I-895 Mainline Construction

As part of the Maryland Transportation Authority’s (MDTA) I-95 Express Toll LanesSM (ETLsSM) project, portions of I-95 and I-895 will be widened and reconstructed.

Work is underway to construct two new ETLs in each direction of I-95 between the I-895 split and south of Chesaco Avenue. Other work on I-95 includes improvements to the existing travel (general-purpose) lanes.

Work on I-895 began south of the Moravia Road interchange and will extend to I-95. One ETL in both directions will be added and a portion of the general-purpose lanes will be reconstructed. The southbound I-895 general-purpose exit and entrance ramps also will be realigned. The ETLs will start and end at the Moravia Road Bridge.

Bridges constructed in this contract include the I-895 southbound general-purpose roadway over Moores Run and the I-895 northbound and southbound ETLs over relocated I-95 (general-purpose lanes and ETLs).
