I-895 Northbound General Purpose Lanes Construction

As part of the I-95 Express Toll Lanes (ETLsSM) project, the Maryland Transportation Authority is building two new general purpose lanes on northbound I-895. The construction area extends from south of the I-895 / Moravia Road interchange in Baltimore City to north of the I-95 / I-895 interchange in Baltimore County.

The two new lanes will carry I-895 over Moores Run and the realigned I-95, and merge onto I-95 from the right (currently the merge is on the left). The new roadway will have two 12' travel lanes with a 10' left shoulder and a 12' right shoulder.

The I-895/I-95 Mainline Construction is the first of three contracts for this area of I-95. The rendering above shows how the road will look after completion of the contracts.
